During his Saturday Night Live hosting debut in January, Finn Wolfhard portrayed Daniel Radcliffe's Harry Potter in a sketch called "Heated Wizardry"
The skit created a crossover between the Harry Potter universe and the hit HBO Max series Heated Rivalry
Radcliffe revealed he saw the sketch, and shared that Wolfhard also gave him a heads up before it aired
Finn Wolfhard made sure Daniel Radcliffe tuned in for Saturday Night Live's “Heated Wizardry” sketch.
When the Stranger Things star, 23, made his SNL hosting debut for the show’s first episode of 2026 in January, he starred in a skit that brought the concept of Heated Rivalry into the world of Harry Potter. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Radcliffe, who portrayed the titular character across all eight films, revealed he has seen the spoof.
“Weirdly, I had met Finn Wolfhard a few weeks before, randomly, and we chatted for a bit,” the actor, 36, explained. “And then he texted me the day before it aired, being like, ‘Hey, just so you know, we’re doing a Harry Potter sketch.’ "

“I haven’t seen Heated Rivalry, although I am very aware — my girlfriend is a huge fan,” Radcliffe admitted. “I’m sure there are jokes I was missing, but it was very funny and sweet. I’m always happy to see other versions of that. It makes me laugh.”
The sketch revolved around a trailer for a new series — Heated Wizardry — in which Harry Potter (Wolfhard) and Ron Weasley (Ben Marshall) find themselves in a secret love affair, similar to Heated Rivalry’s Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie).
However, rather than being hockey players, like in the hit LGBTQ+ drama, Harry and Ron are Quidditch stars at Hogwarts.
SNL has a long history of Harry Potter spoofs, dating back to 2001 when Rachel Dratch starred as Harry in "Harry Potter: Press Junket.” Dratch again took on the lead in a 2004 skit called "Hermione Growth Spurt,” which saw Lindsay Lohan as Hermione.
In 2012, Radcliffe even reprised the role for a sketch called “Harry Potter Epilogue” during his first and only time hosting. In the scene, Harry is welcoming a new group to Hogwarts when it is revealed that he actually still frequents the school despite graduating 10 years prior.

This wasn’t the first time Radcliffe has been connected to a Stranger Things star. In December, Noah Schnapp revealed that he is often mistaken for Radcliffe by fans.
“I've been getting Harry Potter the past few years,” the 21-year-old shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “It happened three times last year, which has never happened to me before.”
“People think you're Harry Potter?” host Jimmy Fallon questioned, appearing confused.
“Yeah,” the actor confirmed. “They'll come up to me and they'll be like, ‘I love your show. Thank you.’ And I'm like, ‘Thank you so much. I appreciate the support.’ And then they're like, ‘I adore Harry Potter. I love the character.’ And I'm like, ‘Oh, wrong franchise.’ "
