It's been almost seven months since the vast majority of the Survivor 50 cast was announced. And, at long last, we finally have a first look at what the milestone season will provide, including some surprise twists — and guests. It's only natural we open an epic season with an epic quote from an epic man. Coach Wade starts with a quote from Magellan. "Life is for the bold, to seize the opportunity when it comes. Not those poor intrepid souls that stay close to home. But it is the person who goes out in the storm that reaps the high rewards."

The wind blowing in his ear, he opines, "We chose you to represent 25 years of the greatest adventure on television. It's a big honor, and the only thing we want in exchange for giving you this spot...is everything."
We're then treated to a few nostalgic legends from seasons past. Jenna Lewis, holding down the representation from Survivor's very first season, talks about how the show changed her life (as well as the world). Cirie Fields, making history with her sixth appearance on the island, says there's still "unfinished business" (i.e. a win). And Colby Donaldson wonders how many shots he'll get at the title, not to be confused with his hosting gig on Top Shots. But there's plenty of new school to hype as well. We get our first peek at the two newly-minted cast members from the recnetly-wrapped Survivor 49: Winner Savannah Louie and fourth-place finisher Rizo Velovic. And, of course, Q Burdetter provides a predictably intense, yet hilarious quote. "Make no mistake about it," he says. "I'm thinking about winning. I'm about to cancel everything that you can cancel. Your Christmas, your vacation, your doctor's appointment."

The "In the Hands of the Fans" theme leaves many things in the season in the lurch. In the months leading up to Season 50, fans voted on everything from buff colors to the final Immunity Challenge to whether or not there will be Final Four Firemaking. As Ozzy Lusth and Kamilla Karthigesu talk about, it leaves a lot to be prepared for.But no Survivor player or fan could truly prepare themselves for the biggest shock of the Season 50 trailer: Celebrity guest stars. Country singer Zac Brown pulls up in a vote, stunning the players. Famous faces are making an impact even off-screen, through some sort of twist courtesy of Jimmy Fallon, and a "Billie Eilish Boomerang Idol," without a doubt one of the wildest string of words in Survivor history. And, given we know Probst is doing a crossover appearance with MrBeast for Season 2 of his reality show Beast Games, it only makes sense for the YouTube star to return the favor, briefcase in hand. And, in a season that will apparently feature some celebrity influence, it's only appropriate to close out with arguably the biggest celebrity on Survivor 50: Mike White. As the Emmy-winning White Lotus creator describes it, "Feels a little like a high school reunion meets a massacre."

"Diehard Survivor fans are going to love it! Newer fans who’ve only been with us for a few years are going to love it! Families are going to love it! Kids are going to love it! And I really hope people who have never watched Survivor will give us a try. Because I genuinely believe if you watch just one episode, you’ll be hooked." "That’s how confident I am in what this season delivers," he continues. "It’s big, it’s fresh, it’s completely unpredictable, it’s emotional, it’s shocking, it’s full of redemption and revenge, of support and betrayals! Ultimately the fans will decide where it ranks, but there is no doubt this will go down as one of the all-time great seasons of Survivor."We'll get to see that massacre unfold in front of our eyes in the three-hour premiere of Survivor 50, airing Wednesday, Feb. 26 on CBS. And be sure to check out Parade for our exclusive interviews with the cast in the days leading up to the opening.
