Anyone who has seen The Devil Wears Prada knows the importance of “the book”—the mock-up of the fictional Runway magazine that is delivered to Miranda Priestly’s home every night by the second assistant (always left on the table with the flowers, next to the closet where her dry cleaning is hung).

It’s one of the most powerful symbols in the original 2006 film, and one that was brought to life at the London premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 this afternoon, where Streep pulled out one of her best references yet thanks to a bedazzled clutch that looked just like a miniature version of the book.

With the help of her stylist, Micaela Erlanger, Streep has been making all kinds of nods to her character, Miranda, and the DWP universe, whether she’s sporting a cerulean sweater or dressing in head-to-toe red, as a wink to the pump with a devil’s pitchfork that decorates the original movie poster. And today, it appears the duo decided to go all-out with their references.

Incorporating yet another pop of red, Streep was styled in a satin car coat from Prada, layered over black slacks and a silky white top with a scarf neck detail and Kwiat diamond shirt studs. When the devil finally does wear Prada, she looks great while doing so.

For accessories, Streep sported jewelry from Fred Leighton, including a diamond ring and drop earrings, as well as a star brooch pinned to the neckline of her blouse. Finally, she completed her look with a pair of inky cat-eye sunglasses and red pumps (sans the pitchfork heel), both also from Prada.

Clearly, the book was safely delivered, and Streep’s style certainly delivered too.
